Las pequeñeces del servicio al cliente

San José, Costa Rica. 6:15 de la mañana.
Avenida 8, con calle 18. Local esquinero.
El viento frío de la mañana despierta los nervios en la nariz. Al ser tan temprano, la idea de hacerse desayuno es lejana. Por eso se abarrotan las seis mesas del local. Trajes enteros, gabachas de médicos, “scrubs” y uniformes todos forman un caleidoscopio laboral, con platos de pinto, huevos rancheros, prensadas y café.
Un pequeño resumen histórico: el local actual es la mitad de lo que era originalmente. Don Gerardo inauguró un lugar de nombre “Sabor Tico” hace ya unos años. Expresidentes, ministros y funcionaron hacían fila para comer ahí. Su receta era sencilla y con cariño.

The coin: Blogging 101–Finding your audience.

To the me on the other side of the world. To the writer afraid of launching his or her craft to the world. To the reader wanting to grasp a new story.

Here’s mine.

Today’s post is different. I’m putting this story up for grabs so that I shed a bit more of the shield I’ve carried for a long time.

I’ve never released a full short story to the world, afraid that it would ‘go to waste’. All I did were shorter articles, non-fiction and poetry.

So, let’s do something different. 

The Coin

I hit snooze at 5:30 am. So begins the replay button stuck on Monday to Friday. It pauses and rewinds in a blink of an eye called the weekend.

A cold shower tightens my skin and releases my seven chakras, then organic yogurt from happy cows with gluten-free, vegan granola and berries grown by Buddhist monks fuel my commute.
